MiyoSmart myopic control spectacle lens which appears like normal single vision lens using Defocus Incorporated Multiple Segments Technology or D.I.M.S. Technology, for myopia control in children and youth, developed in cooperation with their partner, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Wearing defocus spectacles daily significantly slows myopia progression and axial elongation in myopic school children aged 8 to 13. Children wearing these lenses have myopia progression significantly reduced by 52%, axial elongation reduced by 62%, and in 21.5 per cent of the children, the myopia progression halted completely.
